explain的意思nvt.& vi. 講解，解釋；nnvt. 說明…的原因，辯解；nnvi. 說明，解釋，辯解
用法
explain在英語中隻有動詞的用法，分為及物動詞和不及物動詞，意思為講解，解釋，說明等。
explain在動詞中的用法後面一般跟explain sth to sb或 後接反身代詞作賓語，具體如下：
1. 表示“解釋”，通常不接雙賓語；若語義上需要這類結構，可以改用 explain sth to sb結構。如：
請把這條規則給我們解釋一下。
誤：Please explain us this rule.
正：Please explain this rule to us.
若其中的 sth 較長或較複雜（比如是不定式或從句），也可以用explain to sb sth。如：
He explained to us why he was late. 他給我們解釋了他遲到的原因。
2. 有時後接反身代詞作賓語，有兩個意思。如：
(1) 表示把自己的意思表達清楚。如：
Could you explain yourself a bit more? 你能把意思說得更清楚點嗎?
(2) 表示對自己的行為進行解釋。如；
Late again, Smith? I hope you can explain yourself! 又遲到了，史密斯?我希望你能說明一下原因！nn

1. Her aggressiveness made it difficult for him to explain his own feelings.

2. Hospital discipline was broken. Amy would have to explain herself.
