创作背景
2016年，新视镜唱片公司的管理人员Aaron Bay-Schuck在听过专辑《Joanne》的最初设想后，将Lady Gaga介绍给了乡村音乐人希拉里·林赛，之后Lady Gaga给希拉里·林赛播放了一系列她自己创作的小样带。Lady Gaga给希拉里·林赛讲述了几首歌的背后故事，而《Million Reasons》是其中一首，于是希拉里·林赛加入了该曲的创作。对于该曲，Lady Gaga表示她生命中遇到的的所有男性，包括父亲和交往过的男友，总是给Lady Gaga“百万个理由”离开，而Lady Gaga只想用一个理由让自己坚持下去。
