成立原因
Cradle of filth（污穢搖籃）樂隊
Cradle of filth樂隊，中文譯為污穢搖籃或淫穢搖籃。1992年組建于英國 音樂風格：極端，哥特，黑金屬
他們自稱: “The Only True English Black Metal Band”
他們有北歐黑金屬的猛烈演奏、交響金屬的宏大結構、死亡金屬的低吼、哥特金屬的女高音伴唱再加上主唱Dani Filth招牌式的吸血鬼氣質的尖叫。在密不透風的編曲下流動着一幅幅陰暗殘暴卻又唯美
的畫卷。
特質
成立于1992年，來自英國的Colchester，在樂風上，他們受到了一些老團如: Celtic Frost、 Bathory、Diamanda Galas和Mercyful Fate等的影響，同時也具備了一些大文豪如拜倫、雪萊等同樣的思想悲觀而厭世。這些都可以在他們的音樂中找到。在當時，由斯堪地那維亞半島所帶領的Black Metal潮流正風起雲湧，許多新進團體紛紛成立，而音樂走向也取法挪威派 的黑金屬，而這樣的結果，造成了彼此音樂的重疊性，往往聽了一個團就不用聽其他的團，Cradle Of Filth确也走出了自己的風格，他們自稱：“The Only True English Black Metal Band”（唯一真正的英國黑金屬樂團）。因此有人稱為“吸血金屬”

CradleOfFilth的第3作"Dusk And Her Embrace"可說是史上最經典的Symphonic Gothic Black Metal專輯，它成功地将英國流傳已久的歌德文化與北歐的黑金屬元素結合在一起，造就出邪惡、仇恨、浪漫與黑暗的氣氛，有别于北歐的正統黑金屬風格。主唱Dani為CradleOfFilth的靈魂人物，他擁有所有黑金屬主唱之中最為尖銳的音調，宛如吸血鬼般的嘶吼咆嘯，既陰森又恐怖!如果将此專輯視為一張恐怖片電影配樂也頗洽當，首曲"Humana Inspired To Nightmare"以氣氛陰森的交響樂作為前導，猶如吸血鬼即将破棺而出!緊接着"Heaven Torn Asunder"以棺木開啟的音效為起始，随後來自地獄般的慘叫正是吸血鬼的複仇之音，加上低沉的哥德式男女吟唱與飄邈的美聲，更添黑暗之美!很少有專輯能夠真正做到既優美又殘暴的結合，而"Dusk And Her Embrace"确實已作到這點，Cradle Of Filth不愧是金屬哥特樂隊的王者。

聖女貞德（法語：Jeanne d'Arc或Jeanne la Pucelle，1412年1月6日－1431年5月30日）是法國的軍事家，天主教聖人，被法國人視為民族英雄。被稱為“奧爾良的少女”和“聖女貞德”，法國民族英雄、軍事家，天主教會的“聖女”。英法百年戰争（1337年~1453年）時她帶領法國軍隊對抗英軍的入侵，支持法查理七世加冕，為法國勝利做出了巨大貢獻。後為勃艮第公國所俘，宗教裁判所以“異端”和“女巫罪”判處她火刑。聖女貞德（法語：Jeanne d'Arc或Jeanne la Pucelle，1412年1月6日－1431年5月30日）是法國的軍事家，天主教聖人，被法國人視為民族英雄。
歌詞中出現過的另一個人物是吉爾斯·德·萊斯（Gilles de Rais）（1404年9月10日—1444年10月26日），歐洲曆史上著名的黑巫師。英法百年戰争時期他是貞德的戰友，曾被譽為民族英雄。但貞德被俘以後，男爵受到極大的精神打擊，并退隐于馬什庫勒和蒂福日的領地埋頭研究煉金術。他希望借血來發現點金術的秘密，大約把300名以上的兒童折磨緻死，後亦因此被施以火刑。他也是西方童話傳說中的反派角色“藍胡子”的現實原型之一。
gilles對貞德的仰慕并非空穴來風，并肩作戰之時貞德不足19歲而gilles也不足25歲，gilles非常仰慕貞德的品格，作為一名深明政治腐敗的貴族軍官也給予她不少建議甚至不止一次救過貞德的命。研究煉金術是因為他受蠱惑以為借此能複活死人，後來他被判決時甚至主動要求運用當時最痛苦最殘酷的火刑 .
