《 Art of Life》是日本乐团X Japan在1993年8月23日发行的专辑。里面仅收录一首由Yoshiki作词作曲，长达29分钟的同名单曲，这是一首一举登上Oricon榜首席的长达30分钟的摇滚巨作。
这首曲子架构在舒伯特的第八交响曲“未完成”的基础上，音乐部分分成几个速度不同的段落，其中包含了吉他的独奏以及近9分钟的钢琴独奏；歌词里带有许多的韵文但并未使用交响乐里常用的合声。
专辑一上市就在ORICON榜上夺得第一名，并在发行当年卖出513,300张。
这首曲子鲜少有现场的演出，第一次是在1992年7月30日于日本武道馆演出，而另外两次都在东京巨蛋，分别在1993年的12月30日及31日；这些演出分别收录在专辑Art of life live以及DVD/VHS的Art of Life 1993.12.31 Tokyo Dome中。2008年3月28日，X Japan的复出演唱会中再次将这首曲子以现场的方式重现于歌迷眼前，但在Yoshiki即将要钢琴独奏的前一刻，Yoshiki却因体力不支昏倒后而中断。之后几天的演唱会仍然有将这首曲子做完整的演出。其后的世界巡回演唱会中也多次演出这首曲目。
音乐结构与解析
0:00 - 2:58
音乐开头由柔和的吉他带入，接着钢琴也随之跟进。管弦乐在25秒时也加入音乐中，音量渐渐放大直到主唱Toshi开始演唱。
2:59 - 4:10
随着Yoshiki从钢琴转进鼓的拍子，两个吉他也跟着这个节奏，一个重复相同的旋律，另一个则越来越高亢，但两者仍然维持着良好的和谐度。3分34秒时第三把吉他加入演奏，将前面相同的节奏更强化并推动乐曲的进行。
4:11 - 8:14
主唱和管弦乐再次进到音乐中，随之而来是旁白的耳语以及最后吉他的独奏。
8:15 - 8:43
随第二次旁白结束后，突然有一段仅有大键琴与大提琴的安静演奏。
8:44 - 12:43
接着有个单调的和弦结束前面的插曲，鼓声再次将音乐带入强烈的节奏。下面又是一段不同于前面的吉他独奏，时间相当长且自然的形成了断奏。
12:44 - 13:38
借由Toshi的演唱巧妙的将乐团与管弦乐转进另一个新的段落，这个段落的后面以吉他和小提琴的独奏作结。
13:39 - 15:06
随前面一段小提琴转换的情绪接着又在以旁白的方式将乐曲带入另一个节奏中。
节奏强烈的鼓声突然出现，音乐再回到与8分44秒相同的节奏，最后乐团与管弦乐随Toshi的歌声渐渐消失。
Piano Solo (15:07 - 24:18)
下面则是9分钟的钢琴独奏。开头以轻柔、简单且不断重复的段落带入；第二个钢琴声加入时，则以狂暴强烈的节奏与第一个琴声产生冲突。最后两个琴声渐渐和谐成一开始简单的和弦，琴声渐弱，管弦乐结束原本钢琴的独奏。
Finale (24:19 - 29:00)
吉他下沉的刷弦声解放了乐器的演奏并将整首曲子带进最后一段快速的节拍，乐团、管弦乐和清亮的钢琴声机激发出最后的高潮。
