MV含义

该MV导演梅琳娜说，“女性身上的压力实际彰显了她们的外在美，这才是这首歌所要向我们传递的含义。”梅琳娜透露这个MV的灵感来源于碧昂斯小时候的一张照片，照片中的她站在一个壁炉前面，壁炉上摆满了她的奖杯。梅琳娜称：“我重新赋予了奖杯的定义，奖杯不是鼓励你获得更多荣誉，而是鼓励你追求外在美。” MV中，碧昂斯身着简单白色T恤，看起来十分清秀可人，她说，“我之所以想与梅琳娜合作《Pretty Hurts》，是因为我们对于这首歌的理解不谋而合。”在MV一个场景中，碧昂斯在脸上画上虚线就好像要做整容手术，然后对着摄像机说：“我现在正模拟注射肉毒杆菌的场景，现在由于各种社会压力，女性们要注射肉毒杆菌瘦脸，这真的令人难过。”
