1982至1990年在新疆大學地理系自然地理專業讀本科和研究生
1990至1997年在新疆大學地理系任助教、講師，
期間1995年2月至1996年1月在上海同濟大學留德預備部強化學習德語，
1997-2002年在德國柏林理工大學（TU Berlin）景觀規劃與環境管理研究所攻讀博士，
2002年11月獲得理學博士學位，
2003年1月至2006年7月先後在德國柏林理工大學生态研究所、新疆大學理論經濟學博士後流動站從事博士後研究。
2003年12月被聘為新疆大學資源與環境科學學院副教授，
2006年12月晉升為教授。

近20年來，參加了在中國、德國、瑞士、奧地利、法國、比利時、荷蘭、俄羅斯、格魯吉亞、吉爾吉斯坦、印尼等國家舉辦的國際學術會議50餘次，并在大會上作報告。本人負責組織的國際會議有：
1)中德學術會議：中亞内陸河流域受損生态系統恢複與重建——以中國新疆塔裡木河為例，2003年8月31日至9月5日，新疆庫爾勒（德意志學術交流中心、Heinrich-Boell 基金會聯合資助）。
2)國際會議：中亞跨邊境國際河流的水資源利用沖突及其解決途徑—以哈薩克斯坦、吉爾基斯坦、塔吉克斯坦和中國新疆地區為例，2006年8月29日至9月4日，新疆烏魯木齊（大衆基金會資助）。
3)國際會議：氣候變化背景下塔裡木河流域水資源可持續利用利益相關者對話與管理，2010年2月21-23日，新疆烏魯木齊（德國科技部國際合作局資助）。
4)第32屆國際地理學大會（32nd International Geographical Congress）分會場"Ecosystem Services of Floodplains in Arid Central Asia" 召集人，2012年8月26-30日，德國·科隆。
5)國際地理聯盟2015年區域會議（International Geographical Union (IGU) 2015 Regional Conference）分會場"Land Use and Nature Conservation in Riparian Areas – The Interrelation between Efficient Ecosystem Functions and Beneficial Ecosystem Services on Floodplains" 召集人，2015年8月17-21日，俄羅斯·莫斯科。
